A reading tracker where every finished book prints a stub
Bookstub is a reading tracker for iPhone, now in development. You log the page you reached, save short lines you want to keep, and each finished book prints a ticket-style stub you can share. Everything stays on your iPhone, and stubs are set in type instead of cover art.

How does Bookstub track my reading?
You record the page you reached. Bookstub works out the percentage from it, so the page number is always the source of truth. The log sheet has a page wheel, minus one and plus one buttons, and a single button to save.
Every save can be undone for 10 seconds. If you read last night and forgot to write it down, you can log it for yesterday until noon. See how logging works.
What is a stub?
A stub is the keepsake a finished book prints: title, author, days, pages, dates, a rating drawn as squares, a serial number such as No. 007 / 2026, and your line of the book. A book you stop reading prints a different stub that says where you left.
The first design, Classic, is free. Stubs explains designs, paper stocks and how sharing works.
Can I keep quotes from the books I read?
Yes. A line is a passage you type yourself, up to 280 characters, saved with the book, the page and a colored tab. Tabs work like the sticky flags people put in paper books, with names such as Favorite line, Plot twist or Re-read this.
Each line can become a card sized for Stories or a square post. Read more in lines and tabs.
What happens if I miss a day?
Reading one page keeps the streak alive. Every seven reading days earn a rest day, you can store up to three, and a missed day uses one automatically. If the streak does break, your longest streak stays on record.
Streaks and rest days lists every rule, so you can check them before you trust them.
What do I get every week, month and year?
Every Sunday at 18:00 a receipt-style ledger prints with your pages, minutes, days read and lines kept. At the end of a month, the books you finished stack up. In December the year archive opens as eight story cards.
Details are on the ledger, stack and archive page.
Can I read with friends without accounts?
Yes. A pact, a bingo card or a stack match travels inside a link you send. Your friends open it in Bookstub, and nobody creates an account. Friends see updates only when someone posts a pace stub, because there is no server syncing in the background.
See reading together.
Where is my data, and what does it cost?
Your books, logs and lines are stored on the iPhone and encrypted with a key kept in the iOS Keychain. Bookstub has no analytics. Looking up a book sends your search words to Google Books, or to Open Library if you choose it in Settings.
Logging, streaks and your stubs are free. Bookstub Pass is an optional upgrade for more designs, bigger bingo cards and full stats. The App Store shows prices in your currency. The app is not released yet, and the privacy policy describes the build as it stands.
